Check the same thing for any ARRAY formulasġ.
With both CF or Data Validation, check to make sure you are not using full rows/columns, try to restrict the ranges to just what you need - or 2-3 times what you think you will need.Ĥ. Check if you have any Conditional Formatting and see if the rules have doubled up (I have seen them repeated 3 and 4 times just in 1 cell)ģ. If it is nowhere near where you know where your data ends, start CAREFULLY deleting rows and columns till you get to where you now your data endsĢ. With any "slow" file, there are a few things to check.ġ. I have rebuilt the sheet so this is not a practical problem - but I wonder where the issue could have been so I have a faster solution next time?
(of course this breaks other things in the complex sheet so it was just for testing) Now I have 65000 rows of course but the blank ones still remain and still seem undeltable. I tried saving it as a previous version of excel with only 65000 rows Repeated of course for every row in the Xml format So I deleted everything except 1 column (all the sheets and every column except the first one and all the data in hose columns - result was a used range of 1 million rows in one column. I tried to delete the other sheets - no luck I tried to look in named ranges conditional formats, data validation etc on that sheet - no luck I tried to delete the rows and it did not change the used range. I have an excel sheet (2010) with 1 million rows in it but data just down to row about 2000.
